Mu Gamma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. 

 

In the spring of 1989, the idea of an undergraduate chapter was conceived at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, when Felisha M. Washington discovered that her cousin, Mrs. Helen V. Rouse was a member of the Delta Iota Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority in Charleston, SC. Through constant contact and correspondence, Felisha worked with Mrs. Rouse and the Delta Iota Sigma Chapter to bring to reality the Magnificent Mu Gamma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho on the campus of the College of Charleston on April 13, 1991.

The five charter members were Tonya L. Brailey, Audrey D. Gore, April D. Fields, Wendy A. Finkley, and Felisha M. Washington. In the fall of 1991, four more young ladies joined the Mu Gamma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority.  

And now the golden legacy continues...
